Perfect trip for ladies who have never kayaked before and/or are looking for a trip to build kayaking confidence. Our morning kayak trip offers a mix of relaxing gentle flowing river sections and beautiful scenery. Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along! All kayaking equipment, guide / instructor services, wetsuits if it is a cooler day and morning tea on route. Great for first-time kayakers, fantastic opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive and friendly environment!

PRICE: Special introductory price of $120 pp (plus booking fee) for WILD ISLAND WOMEN.
10: 00 am – Meet in New Norfolk at Laskey’s Carpark – 11 Pioneer Avenue. Plenty of free parking.
Our 2.5 hour paddle begins at Plenty and meanders down the River Derwent through the historic town of New Norfolk. You do NOT need to be a confident swimmer or have any previous kayak experience. Just bring your smile and adventurous spirit!
We will stop riverside along the way to enjoy morning tea and finish at the Millbrook Rise Boat Ramp. We will paddle following the flow of the river and once we have finished our kayaking everyone will be returned to their vehicles back in New Norfolk.
Inclusions as follows:
• Tuition given to level of tour.
• Courtesy Transport to Launch Site and Return –
• We will be supported by Professional Guidance with Australian Canoeing Qualified Guide and Leader: Fiona Weaver.
• All kayaking Equipment provided including PFDs, Wetsuit for cooler days, Paddling spray jacket. Solo or Tandem sit-on top Hobie Kayaks. Super stable an NO rolling techniques needed to operate.
• Morning tea and lunch
Meeting Point – 10 am Laskey’s Car Park, New Norfolk, 11 Pioneer Avenue.
Duration: 10 am to 1. 30 pm (approximately)
What to bring:
• A warm jacket to put underneath a wet weather jacket (We can supply)
• Shoes that can get wet
• Drink bottle (2L). If you forget we will have extra bottles.
• Change of clothes to leave in the bus
Please Note: Maximum of 10 guests. We will provide individual kayaks and two tandems for unconfident guests. Guests do not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a smile! Participants will need to be able to have very basic swimming and general mobility and basic fitness. Please contact us below if you have any questions.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes. You must be over the age of 13 years to attend this trip and accompanied by an adult.

What do I need to wear in the kayak?
Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you will warm up kayaking.
What if it’s raining?
Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless it’s heavy rain or very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof jacket. Wetsuits and jackets will be provided if a cooler day.
What’s the cancellation policy?
No refunds. Transfers from one person to another will not be permitted.
In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will happily refund monies paid in the event that Extreme Wind or Dangerous Conditions be present at or before the commencement of the Women’s Kayaking . Depending on abilities and weather we reserve the right to change itinerary.
This is a women’s only event however please note Liam from Tassie Bound may be assist guide/driver for the day to support us on our adventure/
