Two Lakes – Overnight Ladies Kayak and Hike Adventure
Join us for a truly memorable outdoor women’s adventure experience! Immerse yourself deep within Tasmania’s World Heritage Listed Area and explore Lake Pedder’s amber waters, secret quartzite beaches & learn about the history of the region and sight some of Tasmania’s unique flora & fauna. This is a million star experience and perfect for novice kayakers and campers!
This is a superb experience offering flatwater paddling, beautiful scenery, “wild” swimming in protected bays, camping on a remote island with good food and company. Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along! All kayaking equipment, guide / instructor services, wetsuits if it is a cooler day, morning tea, lunch and transport from New Norfolk OR Hobart.
Pick up from two convenient locations at Hobart Information Centre at 7:30 am or Glen Derwent New Norfolk at 8 am.

Two double kayaks are available for unconfident paddlers. PRICE: Special introductory price of $500 pp (plus booking fee) for WILD ISLAND WOMEN
6 – 8 hour return hike to the newly opened and board walked Lake Judd track.
Followed by short kayak first day and camp out on a remote quartzite beach in the Southwest Wilderness. Liam will pick the best location for the day depending on weather.
You do NOT need to be a confident swimmer or have any previous kayak experience. Just bring your smile and adventurous spirit! Duration: 7.30 am Saturday 9 March to 4pm Sunday 4pm 10 March (approximately)

FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
Moderate fitness levels required.
16 km – 6 – 8 hour hike day 1 with day pack.
Kayak experience is not a necessity but will need to carry own equipment in dry bags on kayaks.
WEATHER
Generally February and March is the most stable weather in the Southwest with cool nights and warm dry days with light winds. Temperatures tend to be between 10 – 25 degrees celsuis. 5 days prior to trip departure you will receive a weather update and modified itinary for the weekend. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change itinerary.
The lake is usually around 20 degress celsius at this time so will be perfect for swimming.
Tour will still proceed in all weather except heavy rain and strong winds/fires.
TOILETS
There will be a toilet stop at Mount Field Info Centre, High Camp Hut, Edgar Campground on Day 1
and
Edgar Campground, Mount Field National Park on Day 2
Please note backcountry trowel will be provided while camping 🙂 Everything else packed in will be packed out.
This is a women’s only event however please note that Liam will be supporting our trip. (Liam has been guiding for over seven years in the region and we will appreciate his chef skills!)
Please Note: Maxiumum 8 guests. We will provide individual sit on top kayaks and 2 x tandem sit on top kayaks . Guests do not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a smile! FAQs Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Yes. You must be over the age of 18 years to attend this trip. How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Please contact me at fiona@tassiebound.com.au or 0417 008 422What do I need to wear in the kayak? Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you will warm up kayaking. What if it’s raining? Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless it’s heavy rain or very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof jacket. Wetsuits and jackets will be provided if a cooler day. What’s the cancellation policy? We hope you do not need to cancel your trip, however if cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date, you will be refunded any amounts paid, less a 20% admin fee. If cancellation takes place between 60 and 30 days prior to your departure date, 50% of the tour price will be forfeited. If cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the tour price will be forfeited. Transfers from one person to another will not be permitted. In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will happily refund monies paid in the event that Extreme Wind or Dangerous Conditions be present at or before the commencement of the Women’s Kayaking Adventure or credit you for another day. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will notify you by text at between 6am – 6.30am on the morning of the activity in the event of cancellation. Please ensure mobile phones are on and accessible at this time to ensure messages are received.Depending on abilities and weather we reserve the right to change itinerary.
