Wild Island Women – Weeknights in the Wild – Short Hiking Series.

As locals ladies living in Lutruwita we’re never far from nature’s wild places. Join a small group of women called to gather in remembrance to our connection to the land, one another and ourselves. Together we will rediscover accessible hikes located within approximately a 20 minute drive from Hobart’s CBD . We aim to run each trip starting at 5:30 pm and finishing around 8 pm.

Our hiking evenings are a perfect opportunity for local ladies to build fitness and confidence in a supportive environment and/or simply connect and be immersed in nature for a few hours.  Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along!


  • Guided evening hike with Qualified Leader Fiona Weave and an assistant female guide.
  • A healthy snack and herbal tea if you have time at completion.


  • Walking shoes. Hiking boots are preferred but not necessary
  • Water-bottle
  • Wet weather jacket. 
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • Small day pack for personal items

To keep our prices affordable and Fiona out of the office please note we can only offer refunds if weather is unsafe for hiking. We cannot accommodate transfers or refunds after booking is confirmed.

Wednesday 21st of October hike – Cascade track/Myrtle Gully Falls towards the Junction Hut.

Meeting point: Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre. You will see me waiting in the Tassie Bound Van in the coach pick up area from 5 pm and will leave at 5:10 pm sharp.

Our other meeting point is 5:30 pm at the car park of the Cascade track start. You will see the Tassie Bound Adventure Tours van parked here just above the Old Farm Road, Strickland Avenue Junction.

We have a COVID- 19 Plan implemented for the evening. Please do not attend if you’re experience any ‘cold like’ symptoms.

*In order to best manage the group and the limited daylight hours and late start times we recommend participants have reasonable fitness and are walking moderately 1 hour 3 x a week.  We will be walking at a moderate supportive pace.  First time hikers welcome!
