Join us for a truly memorable outdoor women’s adventure experience. Immerse yourself deep within Tasmania’s World Heritage Listed Area, uncover the compelling history of the southwest and explore Lake Pedder’s amber waters, secret quartzite beaches & learn about the history of the region while sighting some of Tasmania’s unique flora & fauna. This is a million star experience and perfect for first-time + novice kayakers.
An amazing opportunity for ladies who have never kayaked before and/or looking for a trip to build confidence. This is a superb experience offering short wilderness walks, flatwater paddling, beautiful scenery, ‘wild’ swimming in protected bays, basic accommodation at Pedder Wilderness Lodge with good food and company. Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along! All kayaking equipment, guide / instructor services, morning tea, lunch and transport to and from Hobart and between activities from morning of day 1 to afternoon of day 2.

Two double kayaks are available for unconfident paddlers.
PRICE: Special introductory price of $450 pp plus booking fees.
2 x short wilderness walks through the Florentine Valley. (Growling Swallot + Twisted Sister Track). If the weather is good we will watch the sunset from the Twelve Trees Range.
Paddling approximately 3 hours total first day out to remote islands and quartzite beaches. We will pick the best location for the day depending on weather.
Paddling for up to 4 hours hours Day 2 with stops.
You do NOT need to be a confident swimmer or have any previous kayak experience. Just bring your smile and adventurous spirit!
Duration: 9am Saturday 21 March to 5 pm Sunday 22 March (approximately).
What is included:
Pick up and return transfers from Hobart 9 am.
2 x guided short wilderness walks on route to Lake Pedder (Growling Swallot + Twisted Sister)
All 1 x breakfast, 2 x morning and afternoon tea, 2 x lunches and 1 x dinner at Pedder Wilderness Lodge.
Transport between activities
All kayak and safety equipment.

Good quality hiking shoes, backpack, waterbottle or Camelbak.
Small towel & swimming costume, own medications hat, sunscreen and sun protection, camera, waterpoof raincoat (Gortex ideal), warm/thermal layer and beanie/gloves, insect repellent

Kayak experience is not neccessary however participants will need to carry own equipment in dry bags on kayaks.
2 x short walks in the Florentine around 2 – 3 kms each.
Participants should be able to walk up to 3 hours a day over fairly flat but un-even and slippery terrain (bushwalking) and medically fit to participate in up to 3 to 4 hours kayaking a day on flatwater (with breaks and assistance by guides, if necessary). Generally February and March is the most stable weather in the Southwest with cool nights and warm dry days with light winds. Temperatures tend to be between 10 – 25 degrees celsuis. 5 days prior to trip departure you will receive a weather update and modified itinary for the weekend. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change itinerary.
Tour will still proceed in all weather except heavy rain and strong winds/fires.

This is a women’s only event however please note that Liam will be supporting our trip. (Liam has been guiding for over seven years in the region and we will appreciate his chef skills!)
Please Note: Maxiumum 9 guests. We can provide individual kayaks and 2 x tandem. Guests do not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a smile! Participants will NOT need to be confident swimmmers.

What do I need to wear in the kayak?
Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you will warm up kayaking.
What if it’s raining?
Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless it’s heavy rain or very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof jacket. Wetsuits and jackets will be provided if a cooler day.
What’s the cancellation policy?
No refunds. We can provide transfers.
In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will happily refund monies paid in the event that Extreme Wind or Dangerous Conditions be present at or before the commencement of the Women’s Kayaking Adventure or credit you for another day. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will notify you by text at between 6am – 6.30am on the morning of the activity in the event of cancellation. Please ensure mobile phones are on and accessible at this time to ensure messages are received.

This is a women’s only event however please note Liam from Tassie Bound will be head guide for the kayaking component of our adventure. You will appreciate his chefing and guiding skills!
