This is a perfect trip for ladies who are novice kayakers and are looking for a trip to build confidence on moving water. A superb experience offering a mix of relaxing gentle flowing river sections, fun grade 2 rapids and beautiful scenery. Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along! All kayaking equipment, guide / instructor services, wetsuits if it is a cooler day, morning tea, lunch and transport from Hobart or Huonville. This is great day for first-time kayakers/novice kayaks and an opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive and friendly environment! 

Our first kayak days in November SOLD OUT so please get in quick. Only 8 spots available. 

PRICE: Special introductory price of $135 pp (plus booking fee) for WILD ISLAND WOMEN.  This adventure is usually $200 per person.


DETAILS:

Meeting time: We will be offering 2 convenient pick up locations:
10 am SHARP Hobart Information Centre; or 
10:45 am from Huonville Jet Boat Office. From here we will go in the shuttle together to the launch location(Judbury)


Come explore the Huon River with us. Follow the gentle flow of the Huon River, experience the excitement of the Glen Huon Rapids, view rare Huon Pines scattered along the banks, feast on a gourmet local picnic style lunch on a secret secluded beach and perhaps catch a glimpse of some iconic Tasmanian wildlife on route. 


You DO need to be able to swim and general fitness and mobility but do not necessarily need to have any previous kayak experience.  Just bring your smile and adventurous spirit!

Inclusions as follows:
• Tuition given to level of tour.
• Courtesy Transport to Launch Site and Return –
• We will be supported by Professional Guidance with Australian Canoeing Qualified Guide and Leader: Liam Weaver
• All kayaking Equipment provided including PFDs, Wetsuit for cooler days, Paddling spray jacket. Solo sit-on top Hobie Kayaks. Super stable an no rolling techniques needed to operate.
• Morning Tea – Brownie/refreshments. Lunch- delicious wrap of local world class Tassie produce
Meeting Point – Hobart Information Centre at 10:00am (16-20 Davey St, Hobart) We will leave 10am sharp. Or Huonville Jet Boat office at 10:45am. There are toilets are located on Elizabeth Street at Franklin Square in Hobart an Huonville Jetboat office.

Duration: 10am to 3pm (approximately)
What to bring:
• A warm jacket to put underneath a wet weather jacket (We can supply)
• Hat
• Sunglasses
• Shoes that can get wet
• Drink bottle (2L). If you forget we will have extra bottles.
• Towel
• Swimmers and wet suit if you have one 
• Change of clothes to leave in the bus


Please Note: Maximum of 8 guests. We can provide individual kayaks and 2 x tandem for unconfident ladies. Guests do not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a smile! Participants will need to be able to swim, have a basic level of fitness and be able and free of any major health/mobility concerns.

FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Yes. You must be over the age of 15 years to attend this trip.  Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult of guardian.

What do I need to wear in the kayak?
Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you will warm up kayaking.
What if it’s raining?
Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless it’s heavy rain or very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof jacket. Wetsuits and jackets will be provided if a cooler day.
What’s the cancellation policy?
No refunds or transfers. 
In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will happily refund monies paid in the event that extreme wind or dangerous conditions be present at or before the commencement of the Women’s Kayaking Adventure or credit you for another day. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will notify you by text the evening before or 8 am on the morning of the activity in the event of cancellation. Please ensure mobile phones are on and accessible at this time to ensure messages are received.
Depending on abilities and weather we reserve the right to change itinerary. 

This is a women’s only event however please note Liam from Tassie Bound will be guide for the day to support us on our adventure.
