Join us for a truly memorable outdoor women’s adventure experience. Immerse yourself deep within Tasmania’s World Heritage Listed Area, uncover the compelling history of the southwest and explore Lake Pedder’s amber waters, secret quartzite beaches & learn about the history of the region while sighting some of Tasmania’s unique flora & fauna.
This is a superb experience offering short wilderness walks, flatwater paddling, beautiful scenery, ‘wild’ swimming in protected bays. Come alone and make new friends or bring your friends along! All kayaking equipment, guide / instructor services, morning tea, lunch and transport to and from Mount Field National Park and between activities from morning of day 1 to afternoon of day 2.

DETAILS:1 x short wilderness walks through the Florentine Valley Twisted Sister Track.
Paddling approximately 4 hours total first day through the Sprent Basin to Pedder Wilderness Lodge where we will be staying on the Sunday Night in your own room.
Paddling for up to three hours Day 2.
You do NOT need to be a confident swimmer or have any previous kayak experience. Just bring your smile and adventurous spirit! Duration: 9 am Sunday 29 November to 5 pm Monday 30 November.

Flat water paddling Sprent Basin to Pedder Wilderness Lodge (5 hours with breaks)
Flat water paddling Pedder Wilderness Lodge through the Still Water Passage on Lake Pedder.
All 1 x breakfast, 2 x morning and afternoon tea, 2 x lunches. Dinner/drinks on Sunday night can be purchased separately at Pedder Wilderness Lodge
Transport between activities
All kayak and safety equipment.
Packing List for Participants
Good quality hiking shoes, backpack, water bottle.
Small towel & swimming costume, own medications hat, sunscreen and sun protection, camera, waterproof raincoat (Gortex ideal), warm/thermal layer and beanie/gloves, insect repellent, active wear/ hiking pants.

Kayak experience is not necessary however participants will need to carry own equipment in dry bags on kayaks.
1 x short walk in the Florentine Valley.
Participants should be able to walk up to a few hours a day over fairly flat but un-even and slippery terrain (bush walking) and medically fit to participate in up to 3 – 5 hours kayaking a day on flat water (with breaks and assistance by guides, if necessary). Generally November is stable weather in the Southwest with cool nights and warm days with light winds/showers. Temperatures tend to be between 10 – 25 degrees celsuis. 5 days prior to trip departure you will receive a weather update and modified itinary for the weekend. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change itinerary.
The lake is usually around 15 degrees Celsius at this time so will be perfect for cool water swimming.
Tour will still proceed in all weather except heavy rain and strong winds/fires.

This is a women’s only event however please note that Liam will be supporting our trip. (Liam has been guiding for over ten years in the region and we will appreciate his chef skills!)
Please Note: Maxiumum 10 guests. We can provide individual kayaks and up to 2 x tandem. Guests do not need any kayaking experience just a sense of adventure and a smile! What do I need to wear in the kayak? Warm tights are a good idea and an exercise top/thermals. We suggest you also wear a warm jacket but be prepared to take this off as you will warm up kayaking.
What if it’s raining?
Trips still go ahead in all types of weather unless it’s heavy rain or very gusty winds. We encourage you to bring your own water proof jacket. Wet suits and jackets will be provided if a cooler day.What’s the cancellation policy?No refunds. We can possibly provide transfers, depending on the circumstances.
In the unlikely event of adverse weather conditions, Tassie Bound Adventure Tours reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will happily refund monies paid in the event that Extreme Wind or Dangerous Conditions be present at or before the commencement of the Women’s Kayaking Adventure or credit you for another day. Tassie Bound Adventure Tours will notify you by text at between 6am – 6.30am on the morning of the activity in the event of cancellation. Please ensure mobile phones are on and accessible at this time to ensure messages are received.Depending on abilities and weather we reserve the right to change itinerary.
