Adventure, unplug, relax and retreat with a women-only wilderness glamping weekend all located within an hour’s drive from Hobart.
Experience the magic of a slowing down to nature’s pace and encounter real connection. Challenge yourself on a day hike through the golden deciduous beech at Mount Field National Park (Day 2) and find your flow on the seat of your own kayak through platypus feeding pools on the picturesque River Derwent (Day 3). Unwind of an evening in a luxurious glamping tent, feel inspired by women’s adventure films and nourished by freshly prepared gourmet meals fireside with fabulous company.
Only 11 spots available. Come solo and make new friends or get a few favourite friends or family together.
This is also a tech-free wilderness retreat. We request that attendees surrender all smartphones and gadgets at check- in for an exchange for an off-the-grid experience of growth, reflection, peace, mindfullness, community and (dis)-connection. Mobile phones can be surrended and held at reception and will be available if necessary and in the event of an emergency. Organiser’s contact numbers can be passed on also in the event of an emergency. A photographer will be present at the weekend and guides will be taking plenty of photos which will be provided free of charge at the completition of the event.

Transfers from Hobart 5:30 pm on Saturday and return approximately 3 pm Sunday (you can also check in/out independently at the Truffle Lodge from 6pm to 7pm on Friday evening).

Hike – Tarn Shelf or Rodway Range Circuit, Mount Field National Park
Morning tea, transfers and lunch included – hike time approximately 7 hours moderate pace.
FOR LADIES LOOKING TO UNWIND AND RELAX
Guided short walk option Mount Field National Park (2.5 hours) and beginner relax yoga/restorative yoga class in afternoon.

Sunday 5 May
8 AM Breakfast
9 AM Kayak from banks of Truffle Lodge downstream to Hayes following the flow of river through platypus feeding pools and gentle + sometimes exciting river rapids. No kayak experience necessary, only requirement is basic swimming.
Morning tea and lunch on route. Wetsuits supplied if necessary.
1 PM Complete kayak trip
Return and change at Truffle Lodge
3 PM Return to Hobart and drop offs

Please note: Wild Island Women is a women’s adventure community facilited by locally owned and operated Tassie Bound Adventure Tours. Fiona and Liam have been curating with nature since 2011 and provide the best-consumer rated experience in Tasmania. You can find out more here at www.tassiebound.com.au. Our trips are women lead but please note Liam will be around to assist us where needed over the weekend. Trust us, you will appreciate his kayaking interpretation and chefing skills.
