About Us

The Wild Island Women community is a safe space where women can connect, share and inspire themselves and others to explore Tasmania's wild places. Age, experience and background is no barrier to adventuring and we warmly welcome all ladies with open arms.

Wild Island Women is a community founded by Fiona Weaver in 2017. Her first two decades were spent in the Blue Mountains of NSW and after graduating high school she climbed quickly up the corporate ladder. It didn’t take long to decide to deconstruct the more traditional life and cool off her itchy feet travelling and adventuring across the globe.

Fiona now calls the Derwent Valley home and for the last decade has birthed, built and operated the multi award-winning adventure tourism business, Tassie Bound Adventures with her husband.

Fiona hopes to connect and celebrate women in the Wild Island Women community and cheer them on to complete small and big adventures in the their own backyard.
